La grammatica
I’m back at home: home in inglese significa "casa" nel senso di focolare domestico. Attenzione: rispetto all’italiano non vuole il complemento di termine to. Es.: go to school / go home; "Stare a casa", Stay home oppure Stay at home.
You’d better look it over: had better, contratto spesso in sogg+’d better, traduce il condizionale di "dovere" (dovresti). Rispetto a should, had better ha un tono più colloquiale e una sfumatura più minacciosa. Es.: You’d better finish your homework before going out, "Faresti meglio a finire i compiti prima di uscire".
Un altro modo per tradurre il condizionale di dovere è ought to, che è molto simile a should. In alcune parti degli USA ought to suona un po’ antiquato.
