La grammatica
I walk a mile: “Cammino per un miglio”. In italiano camminare è seguito sempre da una preposizione (per, su, ecc.) mentre in inglese è seguito da un complemento oggetto. Nota l’espessione to walk home che significa “andare a casa a piedi”.
Have to significa “dovere” e si usa come sostituto del verbo modale must.
I get bent up: To bend/bent/bent è un verbo irregolare che significa “piegare”. Da notare questa costruzione, to get + participio passato, che esprime l’idea di aver subìto/avuto qualcosa. Es.: I got my hair cut, “Mi hanno tagliato i capelli” (nel senso: ho avuto i capelli tagliati).
