La grammatica
Since: è una preposizione che significa “da quando” (è anche una congiunzione che significa as, because, “poiché”). Il presente + “da” in italiano di solito si traduce in inglese con il present perfect o il present perfect continuous con since o for.
Since si riferisce ad un punto d’inizio di un’azione. Es.: I have been here since 6 o’clock, “Sono qui dalle 6”.
For si riferisce ad un periodo di tempo. Es.: I have been here for two hours, “Sono qui da due ore”.
